Occupational Health Technician

About the role

As part of our continued growth at TAC Healthcare, we are looking for an Occupational Health Screening Technician to join our team in Aberdeen on a full-time, permanent basis.

The purpose of the role is to deliver a comprehensive, evidence-based occupational health surveillance and screening service. You will work from our Aberdeen clinic and travel to client sites using our mobile screening unit.

A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will be required to drive the mobile unit and deliver services across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and other client locations when required.

We are looking for someone with experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment who is confident interacting with patients and clients. You will be flexible, highly motivated and able to maintain a calm and professional approach.

Previous occupational health screening experience would be beneficial. However, strong clinical experience, excellent patient care and a willingness to learn are equally important.

What you will do
‍

• Carry out occupational health screening and surveillance assessments.

• Measure and record height, weight, BMI, peak flow, pulse and blood pressure.

• Undertake blood sampling, vision screening, urinalysis and electrocardiography.

• Carry out spirometry, audiometry, drug testing, alcohol breath testing and fitness assessments.

• Work from both the Aberdeen clinic and the mobile screening unit at client sites.

• Drive the mobile screening unit safely between locations.

• Liaise with medical and administrative colleagues regarding patient care and service delivery.

• Ensure clinical rooms and the mobile unit are stocked with the required equipment and consumables.

• Complete required equipment checks, calibrations and quality-control procedures.

• Maintain accurate clinical records and assist with administrative duties associated with patient care.

• Deliver a professional and positive experience for clients and patients.

About you

• Previous experience working within a healthcare or clinical environment.

• A full UK driving licence and confidence driving a mobile screening unit.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong time-management and organisational skills.

• A professional, approachable and patient-focused manner.

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

• A flexible and self-motivated approach to work.

• Previous occupational health screening experience would be advantageous.
