About the role

Due to continued growth within TAC Healthcare’s Occupational Health business, we are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Trainer / Clinical Educator to join our team in Aberdeen.

The core requirement for this role is three days per week focused on training, clinical education and development. We are also open to candidates looking for a full-time position, with the remaining two days supporting the wider Occupational Health service through clinical, fee-earning activity.

This is a varied role combining clinical education, practical support and mentoring, helping both new and experienced Occupational Health Nurses develop their knowledge, skills and confidence.

You will play an important role in supporting clinical competency and maintaining high standards of occupational health practice across the business. Working closely with our Occupational Health clinical teams, you will deliver training, coaching and clinical supervision across key areas including health surveillance, case management, fitness for work and management referrals.

You will also support the development and continuous improvement of training materials, ensuring our clinical education remains aligned with current evidence, professional standards and relevant legislation.

What you will do

  • Deliver engaging training and clinical education to Occupational Health Nurses.
  • Support and mentor newly appointed nurses as they develop their occupational health practice.
  • Provide coaching, clinical supervision and constructive feedback.
  • Deliver training across areas such as health surveillance, case management, fitness for work and management referrals.
  • Support competency development and maintain high standards of clinical practice.

  • Identify learning and development needs and support appropriate training interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical leaders and wider teams to support continuous improvement in occupational health service delivery.
  • Promote a positive learning culture that encourages professional development, confidence and knowledge sharing.

What you will have

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong occupational health clinical experience.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or coaching other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine interest in teaching and developing others.
  • The ability to explain clinical information clearly and adapt your approach to different learning needs.
  • Confidence providing constructive feedback and supporting competency development.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage training activity across multiple priorities.
  • A commitment to high-quality, evidence-based occupational health practice.

Desirable

  • A recognised teaching, training or education qualification.
  • Previous experience developing or delivering clinical training programmes.
  • Experience providing formal clinical supervision or competency assessment.
  • Experience supporting the induction and development of Occupational Health Nurses.

A teaching or education qualification or experience developing training programmes would be desirable, but is not essential.
