About the role

As an Occupational Health Nurse at TAC Healthcare, you will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive Occupational Health Nursing service, supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of employees.

Working in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC) Code and professional standards, you will provide high-quality clinical and advisory support while helping the Occupational Health team respond to the needs of our clients.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who is comfortable working across both clinical assessments and case management and is committed to delivering a high standard of care in line with current legislation and best practice.

The role will initially be site-based in Barrow-in-Furness, with an expected on-site commitment of 3–5 days per week depending on contracted hours. There may be scope for some remote working in the future, subject to business and client requirements.

We are able to consider both full-time and part-time working arrangements.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver occupational health services including routine and safety-critical medicals, pre-placement medicals and substance misuse screening
  • Conduct health surveillance assessments as required
  • Provide case management both face-to-face and remotely where appropriate
  • Maintain professional and clinical standards in line with NMC guidance and TAC Healthcare procedures
  • Ensure accurate and confidential patient records are maintained in accordance with clinical best practice
  • Support sickness absence management and provide clear, evidence-based occupational health advice
  • Liaise professionally with employees, managers, HR and HSE teams where required
  • Advise clients on employee health and wellbeing, contributing to the development of appropriate workplace policies and practices
  • Support the promotion of TAC Healthcare services through professional service delivery and awareness of relevant company initiatives
  • Assist with data input and associated administrative tasks where required
  • Travel to other client sites to deliver services where required

About You

You are a qualified and NMC-registered nurse with at least two years’ experience within Occupational Health. You are adaptable, self-motivated and confident working independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Occupational Health experience
  • Experience of occupational health case management, including face-to-face and remote consultations
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • NMC registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health) or relevant Occupational Health qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree)
  • Strong clinical case management experience
  • Experience delivering health surveillance and safety-critical medicals
  • Travel Health qualification or equivalent training
